We do not think anyone will call it in questionor challenge it for the very good reason that thereis nothing to lean upon save the baseless fabricof a vision. The general concensus of publicopinion will undoubtedly take the other view andaccept the narrative, a narrative which should havebeen made public long ago, but kept in retentis bythe family, whose attention we may presume wastoo much involved in the downright robbery andconfiscation of their estates to warrant their puttingthis purely secondary matter before the public. In short, the Ruthven Papers, with all theirimportant details, civic as well as historical, havenever till now been published, although the sub-ject matter is three centuries old.
