Merle Beach, which isone of them, is a pleasant resort upon a lake located about amile to the west of the line, some distance north of stops are made at the road crossing nearest to this. THE HOTEL IN THE PARK OWNED BY THE COMPANYAND REACHED BY ONE OF ITS LINES point, and a bus from the hotel at this resort meets all passingcars for passengers; in this way a considerable amount of traf-fic has grown up, owing to various attractions of this a winter attraction has been developed at Alvard Lake,which is a small lake passed by the line still further north ofDeWitt. The railway company has established an open skatingrink upon this lake, which will be continued throughout thewinter if weather permits.
