It reaches a large size, with light green, curled leaves with fringed edges enclosing a white heart of remarkable solidity. The outer leaves are light green in color, tinged with brown, and their habit of branching towards the centre of head is a great aid to the blanching of heart. Though of unattractive appearance, this is one of the surest 'headers' and of particularly sweet quality.
