JohnAA . Robinsou, a clergyman who wasformerly a prominent member ofthe M. E. Conference of St. was born November 13, 1851, inSt. Cliarles, and received his pri-mary schooling in a private schoolin bis native town. Tbe family re-mo ring- to St. Louis when our sub-ject was 14 years old, his educationwas continued in a German schoolknown as Gim beds Institute. Herehe remained for a period of threeyears and then became a student inWashing-ton University. He left tbe university when in hissopbomore year and be/an tbe studyof medicine under Dr. Herman Tn-holske. Later he entered the MissouriMedical College and graduatedtherefrom in 1874. He at once ob-tained employment at the City Dis-pensarv, and remained there until1881, filling all tbe positions in theDispensary during this neriod.
