Fareham,Hampshire Motorway Chaos after car Flips shutting Motorway Sunday 27th June 2016 The westbound carriageway of the M27 near Portsmouth has been closed this evening(Sunday)after a serious collision. All three lanes of the carriageway are closed from Junction 11 for Fareham to Junction 12 for Cosham and M275. The collision happened just after 11pm this evening the traffic on all three lanes have been stooped and a large goods vehicle,a coach and two other vehicles are surrounding a vehicle left the carriageway went up the embankment and has flipped over onto its roof and now lays in the middle lane of the carriageway. Emergency Service are at the scene and have been battling to free the person trapped in the vehicle on its roof. A sea of blue lights can been seen from the incident. Fire appliances from Cosham,Southsea and a Rescue support vehicle are at the scene. Three ambulances and the Hazardous Area response team from South Central Ambulance Service (HART) are supporting the fire service. Police are attempting to turn around approx 250 vehicles that are trapped behind the collision these are slowly being moved under police escort back to the on slip of junction 11. Collision scene investigators are now examining the scene under torch-light. Police are advising that the Westbound carriageway is unlikely to reopen until at least Local diversion routes have been out in place these are :Follow the hollow Circle symbol Exit the M27 at Junction 11 take third exit on to the A27 eastbound toward Portchester. Continue on the A27 to the Portsbridge interchange at the roundabout take the 2nd exit to rejoin the M27 at Junction 12.
