The famous and historic stone 'Butter Bridge' near the top of the 'rest and be thankful' at the east end of Glen Kinglas near Arrochar. Ben Reach and Doune hill in snow to rear. Beside the A83 road. This is an old military road bridge carrying the old road across the Kinglas Water at Butterbridge. It was built by General Caulfield in 1745, in the sftermath of 1745 Bonnie Prince Charlie uprising.
