Branksome Chine, Poole, Dorset, UK. 13 November 2016. Supermoon over Bournemouth. The Beavers Super Moon is tomorrow, 14th November, but todays is 99% full and only a few thousand miles difference! The supermoon, super moon, occurs when a full moon’s orbit is closest (perigee) to Earth – this one is the biggest and brightest since 1948, being 15% bigger and 16% brighter. The shortest distance from Earth combined with being fully lit makes it appear brighter, closer and larger than usual. Picture: Credit: Carolyn Jenkins/Alamy Live News
