Currey, which was christened by the queen of the festival. It is a cross be- tween La France and Gruss an Teplitz, the color being red and the form that of La France. A. J. Clarke was one of the judges. Various Notes. S. H. Forshaw, Pendleton, Ore., has brought his son here for medical treat- ment. He is suffering from Bright's disease. Fred Wiedemann has leased th* range of Mrs. Eckenberger, near Milwaukee. He is one of the most successful carna- tion growers in this section. The new range will give him more glass with which to take care of his growing busi- ness. He will give up his present place. Mr. Wiedemann also has a gold placer claim in California which has given good results and which occupies some of his time. F. H. Rowe, of L. W. McCoy's, Seat- tle, Wash., was a visitor this week. W. H. Rose, representing the Sefton Mfg. Co., Chicago, called on the florists last week. J. Gill, Berkeley, Cal., is in town on a business trip. E. R. C. DAVENPORT, lA. The Tri-City Florists' Club met re- cently in regular session at the resi- dence of R. M. C. Rohlfs, proprietor of the Alta Vista Nurseries, enjoying a trip of inspection over the grounds.
