The sign of the aquarius is depicted as a naked man who empties a jug of water. The peacock and lion are attributes of Juno, the goddess of protection of January. This peacock and the harp above it are derived from the Le Douze Mois Grotesques carpet series designed by Claude III Audran (1658-1734) around 1709, which was printed by Jean Audran (1667-1756).
