Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, 27, is a dancer and activist and part of the hijra community of transgenders in India. She set up her own NGO, Astitiva, which carries on AIDS awareness and support for her community. Part of the "Portraits of Commitment" book project on individuals preventing the spread of AIDS/HIV, commissioned by title commissioned by the Asia Pacific Leadership Forum and UNAIDS. Thane, India.
