Brought over to England from Spain in the 1500’s and named after Queen Elizabeth I (the Virgin Queen). Symbolizes artifice, ingenuity, wisdom, travel, mischief, royalty, high aspirations. ‘Vitiwester’ is a cross between C. viticella and C. ‘Westerplatte’, by Tom Hannink, 2005.
