Fine for ribbon lines and bedding; more erect than the Centaureas. Acanthifolia.—The best variety, with downy white silvery leaves ; an improvement on C. Maritima. Per pkt., 10c. CLARKIA. COREOPSIS. Lanceolate Grandiflora (Califor ni a Sun- beams.)—These lovely improved varieties are much larger than any heretofore offered ; the flowers are beautifully formed,—some saucer- shaped, others flat, some exquisitely incurved, while others are like great buttercups. The petals are broad,with pinked, toothed, or irregu- larly fringed edges. Some are very light yellow, others a deeper shade, darker around the eye— all so fine, it is difficult to say which is the most beautiful. Per pkt., 10c. Lanceolata.—Makes a dense tuft of glossy foli- age, which is rich and bright till hard frost, and out of this mass of foliage rises a constant suc- cession of tall, slender stems, two feet high, bearing blossoms of the most brilliant golden yellow conceivable, as large as a silver dollar. The beauty of these flowers is unequaled by any yellow flower. There is, perhaps, no other per- ennial so valuable for summer cutting. Per pkt., 5c. CALLIOPSIS. (Coreopsis.)
