X RES de cette fontaine etoit le bois et le temple des Camènes :cetoit la que le bon Numa alioit sentretenir avec la nimphe ; on voitencore sa statue mutilée au fond de la grotte : cet endroit a encorequelque chose de vénérable : des deux cotés sont les niches ou etoientles statues des neuf Muses. Leau de la fontaine séchappe des toutespartes au milieu des tronçons et des débris des colonnes, qui decoroientsans doute le temple des Camènes.
