JAMES ARTHUR ATWOOD ATWOOD, JAMES AETHUE, manager of two of Connecticutsforemost manufacturing industries, bank president and lead-ing citizen of Wauregan, Windham County, Connecticut,was born in that town, May 18th, 1864. He is a descendant ofFrancis and Mary Williams Atwood, of Providence, Ehode Island,the latter a great-granddaughter of Eoger Williams. Francis At-woods son, John Atwood, had a son John who was a sergeant inthe Eevolutionary War. Sergeant John Atwood married Eoby Kim-ball and lived in Scituate, Ehode Island, where their son KimballAtwood was born. Kimball Atwoods son John moved to Williams-ville, Connecticut, and became part owner of The Williamsville Manu-facturing Company, which present representatives of the family ownand manage. James S. Atwood, son of John and father of JamesArthur Atwood, was a successful manufacturer of Wauregan, a loyalmember of the Congregational Church and a most upright, useful,and high-minded citizen.
