The hermitage crowns the top of the Sant Mateu hill, with access through a dirt track that leaves Vilassar de Dalt or through another that connects with Premià de Dalt passing through the Bishop's Chair. The last section must be done on foot. Next to the chapel is the hermit's house, where the distinguished historian Mosén Mas i Domènech, in charge of the Chapter Archives of the Barcelona Headquarters (1900-1936), was born.
