SALE OF RECORDED DAIRY COWS AT LECHLADE On Friday week, the day following the highly suc-cessful sale of recorded dairy cows at Reading, someof the buyers went on to Lechlade, in Gloucester-shire, where Messrs. Innocent and Son dispersed thenon-pedigree cows, nearly 30 in number, the pro-perty of Mr. W. J. Snook, who sold all the femalesowing to scarcity of labour. All the animals had beenrecorded under the Board of Agriculture live stockscheme, all had passed the tuberculin test, and allby pedigree bulls, and nearly all boasted one or twocrosses by the famous Kelmscott blood. There wasa large attendance and good prices, the total amountfor the 28 cows being £1,330 10s., an average of£46 2s. lOd. The highest price was £92 paid byMessrs. R. W. Hobbs and Son, while Mr. Muir paid£80 for a fine cow, and purchased another for £ Gregory took three lots, one at £
