The monument to Grand Duke Carl-August of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach is located on the Square of Democracy. The bronze equestrian statue was created by the famous sculptor Adolf von Donndorf. It was inaugurated in 1875 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his reign. In the background is Princely House Weimar. It is the former palace, parliament and government building that today houses the Franz Liszt School of Music Weimar, Thuringia, Germany, Europe | Auf dem Platz der Demokratie befindet sich das Denkmal des Großherzog Carl-August von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach.
