DIABETIC FOOT

Photo essay from hospital. Department of diabetology endocrinology of St Louis Hospital in Paris, France. Consultation of podology of Dr Acker. Elderly patient affected by diabetes : high arch foot and callus on a diabetic foot. We can distinguish the blood points under the callus of which the horn was cut. In a diabetic, any wound on the foot (corn, ingrowing nail, ...) can degenerate very quickly into diabetic foot ulcer. A particular follow-up in podology is then instaured. The high-arch foot, deformation of the foot arch, can be caused by diabetes and cause abnormal support, sources of callus and wounds.
