As California contends with its worst drought in recorded history, the Salton Sea, its largest inland body of water, is evaporating at an alarming rate. The shoreline near Desert Shores is quickly receding, exposing not only salty mud flats but also pesticides and other toxins now at risk of becoming airborne and posing health risks to people throughout Southern California.
