The Van Depoele Electric Manufacturingcompany have devised a pillar and lamp, shownin the accompanying cut, for utilizing the car-propelling electric current to light up the lamps may be mounted on the poles; and from their location in the middle ofthe street would illuminate it much better, andbe more readily accessible, than when placed onthe street sides.
