Fokker F-27 airplane in a hanger. Also called the F-27 Friendship, this is a turboprop airliner from the Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker. Designed in the 1950s, the various versions carry between 30-50 passengers. The wingspan is around 29 metres and the length is some 23 metres. It has a range of about 1500 kilometres. One of the two paired turboprop engines is seen on the left-hand wing. A turboprop engine is a jet engine that drives a propeller (also seen). The tail section (right) is seen with its horizontal structures that help to stabilise an aircraft during flight.
