Knee ligament replacement surgery. Surgeon drilling into the distal end of a patient's femur (thigh bone) as part of surgery to repair a damaged cruciate ligament in the knee. The ligament will be replaced with a section of patella tendon implanted into the knee joint. The drill is being used to create a notch in the femur, onto which the implant will be attached.
