Duvan Acosta, a motor transport operator assigned to Battalion Landing Team 2/4, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, holds a bag as Staff Sgt. Javier Reyes, an ammunition chief with Combat Logistics Battalion 13, 13th MEU, places trash in the bag during a community relations event, March 24. The 13th MEU is embarked with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and the amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), and operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations. 7th Fleet is the Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
