Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden. Gustav II Adolf (1594-1632) became King of Sweden in 1611. He was the leader of the Protestants in the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) in Europe. He is the only Swedish king to be styled the Great. Taken from the 'Leaders of Men' cigarette cards produced by Ogdens 1924.
