Raymond "Tony" Thomas, commanding general of Special Operations Command, speaks with Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School Partner Nation Instructor Lt. Jorge Garcia, of Colombia, at NAVSCIATTS facilities on the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. Thomas' tour of the three Naval Special Warfare commands located on Stennis marks his first visit to the area during his command at USSOCOM. The three commands include NAVSCIATTS, Special Boat Team 22 and Training Detachment Stennis. NAVSCIATTS PNI program consists of junior officers or senior enlisted forces nominated by their own countries to serve 18-to-24 months at NAVSCIATTS as guest instructors. PNIs benefit from this opportunity through gaining instructor training qualifications, leadership skill development and working with a highly-professional team that trains Foreign Security Force students from around the world. NAVSCIATTS is a Security Cooperation schoolhouse operating under USSOCOM in support of Foreign Security Assistance and Geographic Combatant Commanders' Theater Security Cooperation. NAVSCIATTS trains and educates Partner Nation special operations forces, SOF-like forces and SOF enablers. These forces are trained across the tactical, operational and strategic spectrums through in-residence and Mobile Training Team courses of instruction.
