Virginia Water, UK. 28th Oct, 2017. The 100 foot high Totem Pole at Virginia Water - erected in 1958 to mark the centenary of the establishment of British Columbia as a Crown Colony - is showing its age with features of some faces rotting away. Carved from a single Red Cedar tree by Kwakiutls Indians, a delegation of the original carvers returned in 1985 - when the pole was 27 years old - to refresh the paintwork. That was 32 years ago.
