Telomerase RNA binding domain. Molecular model of the enzyme telomerase showing its RNA binding domain. Telomerase is an enzyme that adds DNA sequence repeats to telomeres at the ends of the chromosome. Every time a chromosome is copied, some of its telomere is lost and this must be replaced. Telomerase is a reverse transcriptase that carries its own RNA molecule.
