The Glebe Garden Gallery is situated in the heart of Chelsea’s Cheyne Row area, a magnet for London’s artistic community for over a century. Nos. 60-1 Glebe Place, known as the ‘Glebe Studios’, attracted Walter Sickert and his fellow Fitzroy-Group contemporary William Rothenstein, amongst others. However, the first artist to setup residence here was sculptor Conrad Dressler, who built the glazed sheds comprising of the five Cedar Studios in 1885-6. Bareness The discreet entrance to this complex, now entered off Glebe Place via entry phone, leads you to Studio 5, where the Glebe Garden Gallery is situated at the rear of a miniature garden. The artist owner, Ghizlan el Glaoui bought these premises in 2011. It was always her intention to use these premises as her own studio where she could both create and exhibit her artwork along with other artist’s work that she particularly liked. The intention was always to create a studio and gallery setting with a relaxed feel.
