Myrtle leaf spot. Lesions on the leaves of a myrtle plant (Myrtus communis) caused by a Pestalotia sp. fungus. This fungus is usually a secondary pathogen, that is it only infects plant tissue that is already damaged, either by another infection or insect action. The fungus occurs in both temperate and tropical regions. It is a common pathogen of palms and evergreen plants, such as myrtle.
