Trade last week was quiet as a whole, with funeral work running nearer to normal than any other single division of the sales. , , j Stock additions for the week included the first of the red oriental poppies, while deliveries of Ulrich Brunner roses have also begun in earnest. The cut of peonies is increasing steadily and this is fast becoming one of the most popu- lar items offered at present. Ins is another flower which is common and, from the rate the cut of daisies has been increasing, there is likely to be a glut before long. Another novelty was the first maple leaves of the season, these being used freely in shop decora- tions. , , ,.. Lilacs are plentiful and the white va- riety has been popular. In contrast with the situation of a few weeks ago, there is a big demand for the few daffo- dils being cut at this time, and those shops having them on hand are able to clean up their stock quickly. Calen- dulas, anemones and yellow marguerites have proved a colorful combination among the made-up baskets featured m some shops. The local cut of roses is increasing steadily and some excellent stock is coming to hand. Columbia, Ward and Ophelia are in heavy supply. Cecile Brunners are increasing.
