(Pipe Line Under The Ocean) pump displayed in its original location within the fort surrounding the Isle of Wight Zoo

A (Pipe Line under The Ocean) pump used during World War II to pump fuel from Britain to the French coast in the aftermath of the D Day Normandy landings. The pump has returned home to the old fort at the Isle of Wight Zoo. This pump was still in commercial use up to the early 1990's, used for washing insulators on Britain tallest electricity Pylon by the river Thames. It has now been restored and returned to its original home within the fort the now surrounds the Isle of Wight Zoo.
