Vegetable preparations aremounted in different ways; the seeds,pollen, etc., may be mounted dry, a ringof black varnish first being made on theslide in which the specimens are placed,and a cover glass is then cemented on withanother ring of black varnish round it. Mounting Starceies, etc. Starches, etc., may be mounted inglycerine jelly or in one of the aqueous.
