Since his arrival atthe heart of the South he has enteredprominently into the various activities. Hehas been a member of the band for threeyears, and of the Washington Literary So-ciety. Hanger, Jr., better known asPhil, came to light on July 17, 1895, inthe Queen City of the Valley almostwithin sight of President Wilsons birth-place. Phil graduated at Staunton HighSchool and not content with anything lessthan a entered W. & L. in 1914. SinceC. P. has been with us he has been verystudious as his work in German and Eng-lish will testify. Phil has not spent allhis time in studying but has taken part inmany other collegiate activities. He wasSecretary and Treasurer of Graham-Lee,manager of the Junior and Senior footballand basketball teams, and historian of theJunior and Senior classes. Phil expectsto make teaching his life work and we aresure that he will be successful.
