Ramon Llull (1232-1315), Majorcan scholar, alchemist and philosopher. Also known as Raymond Lull and the 'Enlightened Teacher' (Illuminatus), Llull was the author of 'Ars magna' (1305) among other works. He made several attempts to convert North Africa to Christendom. A Latin speech ribbon says: Lux mea est ipse Dominus. The caption (also Latin) names him as Raymundus Lullius. This copy of this artwork is from the Bibliotheque nationale de France (BnF).
