The 203rd RED HORSE dedicates its auditorium in honor of the late Col. Thomas J. Turlip March 5, 2022, at State Military Reserve in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Turlip led the 203rd RED HORSE Airmen and family members as the commander during one of the squadron's toughest times when 18 members were killed in a military transport crash March 3, 2001. RED HORSE stands for Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers, and the unit provides a highly mobile civil engineering response force to support contingency operations worldwide.
