Helsinki, Finland. The Uspenski (Finnish, Uspenskin katedraali, Swedish, Uspenskij-Katedralen, Russian, Успенский собор, Uspenskij Sobor) Cathedral is an Orthodox cathedral in Helsinki, Finland, dedicated to the worship of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. Its name comes from the word Uspenie that signfica Dormition. The cathedral was designed by the Russian architect Alexey Gornostaev (1808-1862), but he rose after his death between 1862 and 1868.
