HOLTON & nUNKEL CO. 462 Milwaukee St., MILWAUKEE, WIS Wholesalers and Growers of Choice Cut Fiowers and Greens Philadelphia. BUSINESS UP TO EXPECTATIONS. Business the last week has been up to expectations. There has not been much stoclc about and what there sold up clean every day. The quality of almost everything is much improved, although many of the pink roses are a bit of£ color. White roses were in good demand as were other white flowers, there being quite a number of impor- tant funerals. The yellow kinds lead in demand, and if the call keeps up much more room will be given them next season. As the chrysanthemum.^ are gone, the Easter lilies are finding a ready market. Valley sells up pretty close. There are plenty of gar- denias. Violets have been shy. They are probably waiting to hear those Christmas bells. Snapdragon sells on sight. It is popular and will be more so later on. The price has advanced over 100 per cent the past week. Mignonette is a good seller as is bou- vardia. fine flowers of which are of- fered from several houses. Calla lilies are coming in and move off rapidly. Quotations on Christmas stock will be about the same as a year ago. At this time it seems as if there will be a generous supply in all lines. Ameri- can Beauty roses are said to be in crop with several large growers, as are also Richmond, both of which are leaders for the Christmas trade. Carnations find a read'' sale now that the chrys- anthemums are gone, although a few very fine Xonin were offered the past week. NOTES. A wonderful business is being done at the Robert Craig Co.'s establish- ment and they already have cleaned up in many lines. Birch bark boxes filled with combinations of foliage plants and ferns have had a wonder- ful sale and will undoubtedly become one of their specialties at this season
