Old stone walls along with over-hanging tree branches in Delhi Zoo forming a beautiful structure, small branches
The Old Fort is an old Mughal fort that is now in ruins. It was abandoned, with the Red Fort being used by the Mughals as their new palace and power center. It is located right next to the Delhi zoo, and there are stone walls inside the Delhi zoo that seem to resemble those ruins (including the walls inside the exhibits of many animals). The Delhi Zoo is a prominent part of the tourist circuit of Delhi, along with being the destination for a large number of children. The zoo occupies a space of 176 acres in Delhi, next to the Purana Qila in central Delhi. The zoo was opened in the year 1959, and was renamed as the National Zoological Park in 1982. The zoo has a total of animals and birds representing a total of 130 species. The zoo has some strict controls and does not allow any food items to be carried inside the zoo, with a security check at the entrance. If you decide to cover the zoo on foot, it can be tiring, although there is a provision of using a battery operated vehicle inside the zoo. Website
