The Masters GT4 Race about to restart under the safety car after the track marshals removed a stranded Aston Martin, at the 2022 Silverstone Classic

A new double-header with a grid into two groups: one for all ‘current’ GT4 cars that are still eligible to compete globally, and a ‘classic’ class for older models that are now out of homologation. Masters Historic Racing, in conjunction with SRO is fielding a GT4-only grid of cars on the race bill for the Silverstone Classic next weekend with a pair of 30-minute sprint races dubbed the Masters GT4 Classic Silverstone Challenge. The provisional entry includes a pair of ‘Classic’ Aston Martin GT4s, a trio of one-make racers (2 x Porsche Cayman and one Ginetta G55 Supercup) and 11 current spec GT4s but with some interesting teams and drivers. GT Cup regular Stephen Walton will race his Mercedes AMG GT4, one of three on the entry alongside a pair from Dubai-based Buggyra Racing one apiece for racing sisters Yasmeen and Aliyyah Koluc. The Speedworks Toyota GR Supra GT4 is in the hands of Scott Sport’s returning GT racer Craig Wilkins. Balfe Motorsport field a McLaren for David Foster with Team Rocket RJN out with another 570S GT4, this time for Pure McLaren series racer Danny Henrey. Finally, there are a pair of current Britsh GT runners – Seb Hopkins in the Team Parker Racing Porsche Cayman, and Freddie Tomlinson in the new Ginetta G56 GT4.
