SAN DIEGO (Jan. 31, 2019) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Tonya Clark, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), drives a rigid-hull inflatable boat (RHIB) with Sailors during small boat operation training at Naval Base San Diego. Clark participated in the training to obtain her coxswain qualification. Makin Island, homeported in San Diego, is conducting a depot-level maintenance availability.
