These determined barn owls took just 15 minutes to capture voles to feed their babies. CORNWALL, UK: A BRITISH photographer has captured a barn owl grabbing an early dinner for its young. Epic shots showed the 11-ounce adult barn owl with a wingspan of over 33-inches as it carried a field vole for half-a-mile to feed its newborn babies. Another image captured the owl taking a rest as it perched in a dilapidated barn. These pictures were taken by military survival specialist and photographer, Richard Birchett (44) from Gweek, UK. The Cornish cameraman used both Canon EOS 1DX MK 2 and Canon EOS 5DS R equipment, along with a 600mm lens. He snapped the birds of prey at Windmill Farm Nature Reserve, near Helston, UK, where he estimated he was 150 feet away from them. @richardbirchet
