Workers pack up Entenmann's bakery's giant donuts at the end of the celebration of National Donut Day in Madison Square in New York on Friday, June 1, 2012. The bakers displayed the largest box of their donuts they ever created as well as giving out samples, donating $25,000 to the Salvation Army and receiving a proclamation form New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. National Donut Day was created in 1938 by the Salvation Army to honor the "donut lassies" who administered treats and solace to soldiers during WW1. (© Richard B. Levine
