At severalpoints they grew as high as the crowns of the teeth, andmore than two-thirds of the teeth were included in the areaof growth. Tartar was found throughout the lingual sur-faces of the teeth. Treatment consisted in curetting the granulations backto the healthy mucous membrane. The patient was seen twiceevery week for four or five weeks, when all tendency toreturn had been controlled. She remained well when seeneight months later. There is a great tendency for these papillomata to re-turn, and even in three or four days they have been seen. Papilloma of Alveolus. to grow an eighth of an inch at points where it was thoughtthey had been thoroughly removed by removal, cauterization and disinfection are essen-tial if return is to be prevented. There is no tendency to-ward malignancy. Figure 80 illustrates a case of papillomatous growthof the gingival mucous membrane extending entirely aroundtwo teeth and including a third along the sides.
