HERBERT SPENCER JENNINGS was born at Tonica, Illinois, April 8, 1868, son of N. and Olive Taft (Jenks) Jennings. Hispreparatory education was had in the Tunica HighSchool and in the High School department of theIllinois State Normal University. He entered theUniversity of Michigan, and was graduated Bachelorof Science in Biology in 1893.
