Its populationv(^K^ is 20,000, while its death rate is but seven per thousand. Battle Creek issituated on two great thoroughfares of railway travel between the Bast andthe West, being at the junction of the Grand Trunk and the Michigan Central lines;and two other railways make it easy of access from the South.
