They clear well, although there could be more snap in their sale. Other roses now are at their best, but they seem to lag a trifle. The best roses anyone could wish for sell at a most reasonable figure. Carnations, which previously were scarce and much in demand, now are more plentiful and of excellent quality, but they do not clear with a rush. Easter lilies have been much in demand and are clinging to the scarce side. Mums and pompons are in extremely heavy supply and the demand is not great enough to clear them. Valley and orchids are in more even supply than before. Violets continue to clear daily, both the single and double va- rieties. Some excellent snapdragons reach the market, but the supply is rather erratic. Sweet peas, too, are to be had occasionally. Various Notes, John Dunlop, of Toronto, was in town last week for a short visit. F. G. Nelson, of the Burlington Willow Ware Shops, Burlington, la., also was a recent visitor. More than 20,000 people attended the first annual flower show of Buffalo, Sunday, November 12. Bowling Scores. Last week's contest resulted in a vic- tory for the West Siders.
