The almhouse where John Robinson lived and preached to the congregation who left Leiden in 1620 to become the Pilgrim Fathers, Leiden, South Holland, Netherlands. The theologian John Robinson (1576-1625) was one of the leaders of the English Pilgrims, who lived in Leiden from 1609 to 1620. He lived in the house called 'The Green Gate' on the south side of the church, near the baptistery. In his house, the Pilgrims worshiped. When the most of the Pilgrims left Leiden to go to America, Robinson stayed behind.
