Army Maj. Gen. Michael J. Turley, the Adjutant General of the Utah National Guard, presents Air Force Staff Sgt. Jacob A. Hardwick, the material controller for the 109th Air Control Squadron, the Purple Heart for wounds received in action, in a ceremony on April, 9, 2022 at Rowland R. Wright Air National Guard Base, Salt Lake City. The Purple Heart is known as the nation's oldest military award.
