Body entirely black, immaculate: thorax veryslightly widest at base; the lateral edge not at allexcurved near the basal angle, and the com-mencement of the anterior curvature of thisedge, is at the middle of its length; elytra withits striae very irregularly serpentine; the inter-stitial lines are irregular and unequal on theirsides, and exhibit a very few adventitious punc-tures, with raised centres. PLATE XXIV. H OBSERVATIONS. Very distinct from the foregoing species, bythe singular irregularity, and sculptured appear-ance, of the striae of the elytra. It was disco-vered in Missouri by Mr. Thomas Nuttall, andhas not been found in the Atlantic States. The low^er right figure. PLATE
