Sir Charles Wetherell (1770 - 17 August 1846) English judge. Oxford, third son Rev. Nathan Wetherell (1726-1808) Durham, Master University College Vice-Chancellor University Oxford. mother Richarda Croke (1743?-1812), Alexander Croke, Studley Priory Oxford. member Parliament , Solicitor General (1824-1826) Attorney-(February 19, 1828 - June 29, 1829)[1]. He was Recorder of Bristol during the riots of 1831. From 1835 up to his death in 1846 he was Chancellor of Durham. Sir Charles was twice married, first, in 1826, with his cousin Jane-Sarah-Elizabeth Croke (1804-1831). They had a son, Charles, who died in infancy. In 1838 he married Harriet-Elizabeth, daughter of Colonel Warneford.
